It’s among the healthiest (and most delicious) spices on the planet. It has a very long history of use in various forms of traditional and alternative medicine. Chinese and Ayurvedic practitioners have relied on ginger for at least 3,000 years for its anti-inflammatory properties, and have used it as a "carrier" herb, one that enables other herbs to be more effective in the body. It’s been used to aid digestion, reduce nausea, and help fight the flu and common cold, to name a few of its uses.
